Join us for a special lecture in the Challenging Conversations series, hosted in part by the Institute of Arts & Humanities (IAH) at UC San Diego.

This event will feature guest speaker Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, Assistant Professor in African American Studies at Princeton University, and author of the book From #BlackLivesMatter to Black Liberation. Taylor will lecture on the subject of the book, which surveys the historical and contemporary ravages of racism and persistent structural inequality, including mass incarceration, housing discrimination, police violence, and unemployment.

The lecture will be followed by a question and answer session, and reception where copies of the book will be available for purchase.

This event is sponsored by the UC San Diego Institute of Arts & Humanities (IAH), functioning under the UC San Diego Division of Arts & Humanities, alongside the Black Studies Project, Southern California Urban Group, Consortium for Black Studies in California, and the African American Studies Minor at UC San Diego. The IAH was established in fall 2016 to encourage conversations across borders of time, place, culture and discipline.
